Yearly immunizations are necessary since there are multiple new strains of A and B out
every year. Please note that it may take 2 weeks to build up the antibodies in your system
after the vaccination is given. Also the level of antibodies decline after several months.
The Influenza vaccine can not cause influenza because it is derived from noninfectious
killed viruses. Coincidental respiratory disease unrelated to influenza vaccination can
occur after vaccination.
The
flu vaccine for the 2010/2011 season will be available to our patients
on or about October 1, 2010.
